The working principle of acid pickling corrosion inhibitor

Pickling corrosion inhibitor is a chemical additive used for pickling metal surfaces, which can reduce the corrosion rate of metal during pickling and reduce metal loss. The basic working principle is as follows:

Forming a protective film: The active components in the pickling corrosion inhibitor can react chemically with the metal surface, forming a dense protective film. This protective film can block direct contact between metal surfaces and acids, reducing the corrosion of metals by acids.

Obstruction of metal ion release: Some components in acid pickling corrosion inhibitors can react with oxides or other insoluble substances on the metal surface to form soluble complexes. And acid pickling corrosion inhibitors can inhibit the catalytic effect of acids and reduce the corrosion rate of metals by reacting with catalysts in the acid.
