The role of atmp and hedp in cement

ATMP (amino trimethylphosphonic acid) and HEDP (hydroxyethyl diphosphonic acid) are commonly used cement additives, which have the following effects in cement:

Inhibition of setting time: ATMP and HEDP can delay the setting time of cement, giving it a longer working time and facilitating construction operations.

Control of cement setting process: ATMP and HEDP have a certain regulatory effect on the setting reaction of cement, which can control the hardening rate of cement and maintain a longer initial setting period.

Freeze-thaw resistance: In low-temperature environments, ATMP and HEDP can improve the freeze-thaw resistance of cement and reduce cracking and damage caused by freeze-thaw cycles.

Alkali resistance: ATMP and HEDP have good alkali resistance, which can reduce the adverse effects of alkali metal ions contained in cement on concrete and reduce the risk of alkali aggregate reaction.

Corrosion inhibition performance: ATMP and HEDP can react with metal ions to form stable complexes, reducing the corrosion effect of metal ions on cement and improving the protective performance of cement against metal materials.

It should be noted that the specific usage methods and additive concentrations of ATMP and HEDP should be reasonably determined based on the cement ratio and usage requirements to fully utilize their effectiveness. In addition, during use, relevant construction specifications and safety operation requirements should be followed.
