How to deal with high concentration rate of circulating water

When the concentration of dissolved solid substances in the circulating water exceeds the limit that the system can accommodate, resulting in an excessively high concentration rate of the circulating water, the following methods can be adopted for treatment:

Dilution: Dilute the concentrated aqueous solution by regularly or timely replacing a portion of the circulating water. This can reduce the overall concentration and control the concentration rate, but it is necessary to pay attention to controlling the water exchange rate to avoid unnecessary impact on the system.

Membrane separation: Using membrane separation techniques such as reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration, the solutes in the circulating water are separated through the selective permeability of the membrane, thereby reducing the concentration rate. This method can effectively remove solutes, but requires high investment in equipment and regular maintenance.

Evaporative heat transfer: Utilizing the principle of evaporative heat transfer, the circulating water is partially evaporated by heating, thereby reducing the concentration rate. This method is suitable for situations where water is mainly composed of solutes rather than solvents, but it needs to consider energy consumption and the treatment of concentrated solutions after evaporation.

Chemical treatment: Use chemical methods to add appropriate chemical reagents, such as dispersants, complexing agents, etc., to reduce the solute concentration in the circulating water and prevent its deposition. This method requires selecting and customizing chemical reagents based on specific circumstances, while also paying attention to the impact on the system and the safety of the chemicals.

Taking into account the specific situation and requirements of the circulating water system, when the concentration rate of the circulating water is too high, a combination of the above methods or other applicable technical means can be adopted to achieve stable operation of the circulating water and control the concentration rate. At the same time, it is recommended to conduct sufficient water quality analysis and systematic evaluation before treatment to ensure the selection of appropriate treatment plans and monitoring of their effectiveness.
